2015 Whole Life Challenge

Written By Chiropractic Health and Wellness on January 5, 2015

Last year Dr.Tivy took part in The Whole Life Challenge, which encompasses nutrition, exercise, stretching, sleep, water intake and a number of other lifestyle choices. She was so thrilled by the results that, this year that she is encouraging myself and the staff to join her on this adventure.  For the next 8 weeks we will be eating a Paleo-based diet, which means that we are not eating any grains, soy, dairy, sugar or any artificial ingredients. Instead, we are focusing on lean protein, veggies of all sorts, fruit, nuts, great quality oils and whatever supplements we have found to be helpful.  For the next 2 weeks we are also drinking one third of our body weight in water which, for me, sounds a lot harder than I am sure it will be!  Each 2 week period will bring some other life-style challenge. Whether it be meditation, smiling more, or something else that brings positivity to our lives.  We are also exercising every day, although we will be doing different routines. Dr.Tivy will be doing CrossFit, while I have a specific triathlon training schedule that I will be adhering to.  We are also required to stretch for at least 10 minutes each day.  My personal goal is to have more energy, lose 10 pounds, and to also level out my thyroid levels. Of course, as an athlete I would love to be faster and stronger as well.

The new year brings new goals and opportunities for change and improvement.  Feel free to check in with us on how the challenge is going.  If there is some way that we can assist you in your own "challenge" for the new year then please let us know.
